Dr. Kaufman completed the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association, (AVCA – now Options for Animals), certification in 1990, earning the second animal chiropractic certification in the world. She is the owner of an integrative veterinary clinic, Animal Holistic Care Specialists of Wisconsin, (AHCS).

Her clinic specialists offer services for large and small animals — animal chiropractic and veterinary spinal manipulation, acupuncture, animal communication, Chinese and western herbs, physical therapy, massage, reiki, essential oils and flower essences. AHCS also has equine assisted learning. The clinic animals are part of a community outreach and humane education effort, as well as continuing educational courses for chiropractors, veterinarians and students.

Dr. Kaufman has written several books, and has been interviewed
on CNN, published in Equus magazine, lectured in New York for the Association for Pet Loss Bereavement as well as the Arabian Horse Association in Scottsdale, Arizona. She has given radio, television and print interviews internationally.

Dr. Kaufman has several horses and competes in dressage, sport horse, hunt seat, and western events. Her late miniature horse, “Tater” rode elevators in nursing homes where he provided therapeutic visits for residents. The oldest of which was 109.
