Elka is 8 ½ years old and is a female harlequin great dane. We have had Elka since she was 9 weeks old and weighed 19 pounds. She is currently 111 pounds.
Elka has been a certified therapy dog through Alliance of Therapy Dogs for over 7 years. She has visited hospitals, nursing homes, local libraries, high schools, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and is currently a member of the Therapy Dogs at Dane County Regional Airport. Elka loves people, but especially loves babies. If she hears a baby cry, she always has to check it out to make sure everything is okay. One of Elka’s favorite past times is watching videos on cell phones, especially if there is a dog in the video. Her other favorite thing is to get belly rubs. Elka currently has 2 great dane sisters, who started out as foster sisters.
